YouTube Restores HM Television Channel and Sister Clare's Documentary

YouTube has reinstated the Home of the Mother congregation's HM Television channel, which was previously deleted on November 3. The sisters expressed gratitude in a video, acknowledging the inconveniences caused by the cancellation but also recognizing the outpouring of support for their work, particularly in honoring Sister Clare Crockett.

In a YouTube news brief, the Home of the Mother stated, "We thank you from the bottom of our heart for your concern and your diffusion [getting the word out about] of the cancellation of the HM Television English channel, which has permitted its restoration."

The English channel, with thousands of subscribers, showcases the renowned documentary "All or Nothing," recounting the story of Sister Clare Crockett, an Irish nun who tragically passed away in Ecuador during a 2016 earthquake. The documentary, with 2.6 million views, faced potential loss due to the channel's deletion, raising concerns for the meaningful impact it had on viewers.

The congregation revealed that the documentary had played a crucial role in inspiring conversions, guiding young individuals towards consecrated life or priesthood, and bringing positive transformations to many lives through Sister Clare's testimony of conversion and dedication to God.

Initially removed by YouTube for reasons citing "spam, deceptive practices, and scams," the channel's removal surprised the congregation, as YouTube typically issues three notices over 90 days before permanent closure, allowing the owner to appeal. This procedure was not followed in this case.

YouTube eventually reversed its decision, informing the EUK Mamie Foundation, a digital evangelism tool managed by the congregation, that the channel did not violate its terms of service. YouTube apologized for any inconvenience caused by the mistakes leading to the channel's shutdown.

Sister Kristen Gardner, representing the congregation, expressed the sisters' sadness at the elimination of the documentary, emphasizing its positive impact on individuals rediscovering their Catholic faith and transcending mediocrity in their spiritual journey. The restoration of the HM Television channel brings relief and joy to those who value the congregation's efforts in spreading Sister Clare's inspiring story.
