In a major development at the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Gautam Adani, the prominent industrialist, has declared a colossal investment exceeding ₹2 lakh crore in the state of Gujarat. The substantial investment is primarily directed towards establishing a groundbreaking green energy park, designed to be visible even from space. Adani emphasized that this ambitious initiative will generate an impressive 1 lakh job opportunities. Notably, the Adani Group had previously committed ₹55,000 crore during the last summit, and Adani revealed that nearly ₹50,000 crore has already been invested.
Addressing the gathering in Gandhinagar, Adani disclosed that the Adani Group is currently in the process of constructing a green energy park in Kutch, spanning 25 square kilometers with a capacity of 30 gigawatts. This remarkable project aligns with the group's commitment to sustainable practices and environmental consciousness.
Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, also made significant announcements during the summit. Ambani conveyed that Reliance Industries is set to establish India's first world-class carbon fiber facility in Hazira, further reinforcing the company's strong ties with Gujarat. He proudly stated that Reliance has invested over USD 150 billion in the last decade, with more than a third of this investment concentrated in Gujarat alone.
Ambani expressed Reliance's commitment to contribute to Gujarat's global leadership in green growth, affirming their support in achieving the state's goal of fulfilling half of its energy requirements through renewables by 2030. The industrialist unveiled plans for the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex, a sprawling project over 5,000 acres in Jamnagar, anticipated to commence operations in the second half of 2024. This complex aims to create numerous green jobs and facilitate the production of eco-friendly products, positioning Gujarat as a leading exporter in this sector.
In a nod to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was present at the summit, Ambani commended his leadership, hailing him as the most successful Prime Minister in India's history. He expressed pride in being a Gujarati, emphasizing the pivotal role Gujarat plays in shaping the perception of new India on the global stage.
