Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas, during the inauguration of the renovated Samudra Kovalam, emphasized the importance of incorporating innovative ideas into the tourism sector. He underscored that the revamped sea-front resort is poised to elevate Kerala's profile as an emerging hub for destination weddings and MICE tourism. In light of the global trend of destination weddings, the minister highlighted the state's picturesque locations, expressing the government's dedication to providing top-notch facilities for this niche segment.
KTDC Chairman P K Sasi, in his presidential address, revealed that the third phase of renovation involved refurbishing 40 rooms in alignment with modern aesthetic concepts. Sasi further announced plans for the next phase, targeting the renovation of an additional 24 rooms at Samudra Kovalam, recognized as a model for beach tourism.
Nestled amidst coconut tree-lined surroundings with a captivating view of the Arabian Sea, Samudra Kovalam has long been synonymous with Kerala's successful beach tourism. The recent investment of Rs 12.68 crore from the state government has led to the addition of 40 rooms, transforming the property into an ideal venue for upscale weddings and MICE tourism.
