UN Halts Food Distribution in Gaza's Rafah Amid Security and Supply Crisis

The UNRWA reported on Tuesday that food distribution in Rafah, Gaza, has been halted due to supply shortages and security issues. In a statement on X, the agency noted that only seven of its 24 health centers are functioning, and it hasn't received medical supplies for the past ten days because of closures and disruptions at the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings.

On Monday, Israel launched a renewed offensive in central Gaza, targeting northern towns and announcing plans to expand operations in Rafah despite U.S. concerns about potential mass casualties.

These simultaneous Israeli attacks in northern and southern Gaza have led to a new wave of displacement, with hundreds of thousands of people forced from their homes and aid flow severely restricted, heightening the risk of famine.
