The National Eucharistic Journey culminated in a historic and unforgettable event at the Syro Malabar Cathedral on June 30th. This remarkable occasion, perhaps never to be repeated, left an indelible mark on all who attended. For those who missed it, the magnitude and divine reverence of this event will make you wish you had been there. For those who were present, the memory will evoke a resounding "Rejoice" every time you recall it.
Around 1500 devotees gathered to participate in the one-hour-long Eucharistic Procession, an awe-inspiring Catholic miracle. Parishioners and visitors alike kneeled in praise and worship of Lord Jesus Christ, their hearts and voices united in reverence. The newly formed Cathedral Singing Group, consisting of nearly 300 singers, elevated the atmosphere with their rendition of the "Eucharistic Song," surpassing even the finest choirs.
The preparation for this event was nothing short of extraordinary. Over 150 dedicated volunteers contributed countless hours to decorating the Cathedral, both inside and out. Their efforts included adorations and prayers, and they adorned the Cathedral with 16,000 feet of white ornaments, 1,400 feet of ground decorations for Lord Jesus to step upon, and 3,000 square feet of space for the devotees to kneel and worship. An impressive 2,000 square foot step above the ground was set for the Monstrance, and during the Benediction, eight angels appeared in the cloudy sky, adding to the visual splendor. The Cathedral's talented artists created visual treats and effects that left everyone in awe. Inside, every corner of the Cathedral was decorated with the highest reverence imaginable.
A special mention goes to the amazing parking team, consisting of 25 people, including instruction givers, sign holders, police officers, and drivers of 6 SUVs and a 15-seater vehicle, providing continuous travel support. Their coordinated efforts ensured smooth logistics and contributed significantly to the event's success.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by four Bishops and 20 priests, with numerous brothers and nuns joining the praying group. Thousands of people were fed a delicious dinner, enhancing the communal spirit of the event. The entire celebration was a testament to the faith and dedication of the Syro Malabar community.
