Catholic Congress Archdiocesan Committee Calls for Resolution of Deacon Ordination Issues from Ecclesiastical Perspectives

The Catholic Congress Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocesan Committee has called for a resolution of the ongoing issues concerning the ordination of deacons in the Archdiocese from both ecclesiastical and Christian perspectives.

The committee emphasized that decisions and actions aimed at the unity and well-being of the Church are crucial for nurturing holy priests. They stated that actions that defame the Church or the community in public are undesirable, as they would only lead to disunity and a weakening of faith within the Church. The meeting expressed that the Church leadership must take swift action to restore peace in the Archdiocese and that irresponsible approaches and stances from the Archdiocesan leadership should be avoided.

The statement was made during a meeting chaired by the Archdiocesan President, Francis Moolan. General Secretary Sebastian Chennekkadan, Treasurer S. I. Thomas, Global Vice President Benny Antony, and office bearers Baby Pottanani, Denny Thomas, Johnson Padayatti, Jose Antony, N. O. George, Mercy Kavalakattu, and Mathew Kannampuzha also spoke during the session.
