First National Syro-Malabar Youth Gathering Held in Mandya Diocese

The first National Youth Gathering, organized by the Syro-Malabar Youth Movement Global Committee, was held under the hospitality of the Mandya Diocese at the Camillian Pastoral Health Center. Representatives from the dioceses of Gorakhpur, Thuckalay, Shamshabad, Pala, Sagar, Kalyan, Belthangady, Thrissur, Chanda, Satna, Rajkot, Adilabad, Kanjirappally, Changanacherry, Idukki, Ramanathapuram, Jagdalpur, Kottayam, Kothamangalam, and Mandya participated in the three-day camp, which took place on October 11, 12, and 13.

The youth gathering was presided over by Mar Joseph Pandarasseril, the Chairman of the Syro-Malabar Youth Commission, and graced by the presence of Mandya Bishop Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath. Mandya Chancellor Rev. Fr. Jomon Kolanchery inaugurated the event. Syro-Malabar Youth Commission Secretary Rev. Fr. Jacob Chakkathra, SMYM Global President Adv. Sam Sunny, Animator Sr. Jincy M.S.M.I., Mandya SMYM Director Sr. Rani Tom S.M.S., and President Daniel Francis led the first National Youth Gathering. The event gained attention due to the participation of representatives from various states across India and the engaging organizational discussions.
