New Delhi: In a historic development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, which will produce India’s first privately built C-295 military aircraft.
Sanchez received a warm reception in Vadodara, Gujarat, where hundreds gathered, cheering and waving banners in a lively roadshow. Following the welcome, he and Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex, a new manufacturing center that will produce the Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft in partnership with Airbus Spain, destined for use by the Indian Air Force.
Highlighting the significance of this facility, PM Modi emphasized that "This factory will enhance India-Spain ties and advance the ‘Make in India, make for the World’ initiative." The event coincided with Prime Minister Sanchez's visit to India, during which he also honoured the late Ratan Tata, noting that he would have been proud of this milestone achievement.
Sanchez praised the project as a testament to Modi's vision "to transform India into an industrial leader and a hub for investment and business collaboration." He further noted, "This Airbus-Tata partnership will drive growth in India's aerospace sector and pave the way for more European companies to enter the market."
