California: Apple today introduced the new Mac mini, redesigned around Apple’s M4 and M4 Pro chips for exceptional performance in an ultra-compact form factor, now measuring just 5x5 inches. Powered by M4, the Mac mini delivers 1.8x faster CPU and 2.2x faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor with M1, while the M4 Pro offers even higher capabilities to handle demanding workflows. Enhanced with both front and back ports, it also introduces Thunderbolt 5 on the M4 Pro model, enabling faster data transfer.
Additionally, Mac mini is integrated with Apple Intelligence, transforming user experience with personal intelligence while upholding privacy. As Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac, it reflects an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across its life cycle, from manufacturing to customer use. Starting at $599 with 16GB of memory, it’s available for pre-order, with shipping beginning on November 8.
"The Mac mini redefines what's possible with Apple silicon, delivering remarkable power efficiency and a new thermal architecture in a small, innovative design," said John Ternus, Apple’s SVP of Hardware Engineering. With the advancements of M4 and M4 Pro, versatile connectivity, and Apple Intelligence, the Mac mini sets a new standard in compact computing."
The Mac mini now occupies half the previous size, optimized for efficient airflow through innovative thermal architecture. Its compact design is driven by the M4 chip’s power efficiency, making it ideal for diverse users — from students to creative professionals.
