Apple has introduced a new service program specifically for iPhone 14 Plus users experiencing rear camera preview issues. This program addresses a problem affecting some devices manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, where the rear camera may fail to display a preview when trying to take photos. Apple will cover the repair costs for affected users, offering free service through Apple Stores or Authorized Service Providers.
To check if your iPhone 14 Plus qualifies, visit Apple’s support page and enter your device’s serial number (found under *Settings > General > About*). If eligible, you can schedule a repair, and Apple also announced that users who previously paid for related repairs might be eligible for reimbursement.
Apple has run similar service programs in the past, including for iPhone 12 models with receiver issues and AirPods Pro with crackling sounds. These programs typically provide coverage for up to three years from the original purchase date.
The iPhone 14 Plus, launched in 2022 as the first plus-sized iPhone of the era, replaced the "mini" model in Apple's lineup. Since then, Apple has continued to release new Plus models each year, with the latest being the iPhone 16 Plus.
