Disciplinary Actions are Legal; Protests are Planned

Eranakulam: In accordance with the Catholic Church's laws, disciplinary actions are intended to foster repentance and a change of heart in individuals. When those who have pledged obedience and embraced the priesthood engage in misconduct that even the average person would hesitate to commit, it jeopardizes not only their own salvation but also causes unrest among the faithful.

True believers will reject any protests organized by priests in collaboration with certain anti-church groups in response to the suspension of a priest who publicly humiliated the vicar during the Holy Qurbana at Manjapra Mar Sleeva Forane Church in front of hundreds of worshippers. Correcting individuals through lawful disciplinary actions is a routine practice, and the Church will persist in enforcing such measures. Therefore, priests and organizations that persist in publicly tarnishing the reputation of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archeparchy through unwarranted protests are urged to cease their anti-church activities.
