New Delhi: The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) has called on the central government to focus on improving the welfare of Dalit Christians. This appeal was made during a meeting with Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
Rev. Dr. Mathew Koykal, CBCI Deputy Secretary General, stated that the discussion centered around the challenges faced by Christians and the need for scholarships for students. He also noted that the Union Minister responded positively to the concerns raised. Fr. Anthony Fernandes, Director of Caritas India, also participated in the meeting.
