An ecumenical Christmas rally and conference, promoting the message of peace and harmony, will take place tomorrow (Friday, December 20, 2024) in Koottickal town. The event is being jointly organized by St. Luke's CSI Church, St. George Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church, and St. Mary's Orthodox Church.
The rally will begin at 6 PM from St. George Church, proceed around St. Mary's Church junction, pass through the town, and conclude at St. Luke's Church. Former Auxiliary Bishop of Pala Diocese, Mar Jacob Muricken, will deliver the Christmas message.
Several clergy, including Fr. Joseph Vadakke Mangalam, Rev. P.K. Sebastian, Fr. Wilson Varghese, Fr. Xavier Mamoottil, Fr. Joseph Mechery, Fr. Cyril Thomas Thayyil, Fr. Joseph Koonanickal, and Fr. Joseph Kuzhinjalil, along with representatives from the four Christian denominations, will lead the event.
The Christian Unity Forum and the Nasrani Mappila Association, along with local leaders in Koottickal, are organizing this festive rally as an inclusive initiative welcoming people of all faiths. A special address will be delivered at the Kurishupalli Junction in Koottickal by the renowned spiritual leader Fr. Joseph Alenchery.
The celebrations will feature Christmas stars, floats, nativity scenes, band performances, DJs, candles, and captivating light-and-sound displays, creating a spectacular atmosphere. This marks the third year of this grand Christmas celebration, which continues to promote unity and joy beyond religious boundaries.
