Melbourne, Australia – The Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St. Thomas the Apostle in Melbourne is preparing to host Unite 2025, a four-day youth conference taking place from February 6-9 at the Belgrave Heights Convention Centre. The event will bring together more than 600 young Syro-Malabar Catholics, aged 18-30, from Australia, Oceania, and beyond, under the theme Pilgrims of Hope.
The conference will open with an address by Archbishop Peter Comensoli, who will set the tone for the gathering. A distinguished roster of speakers is set to inspire attendees, including internationally recognized figures such as Matt & Cameron Fradd, Charbel Raish, and Jo Hayes. In addition, Cardinal Mykola Bychok from the Eparchy of Sts Peter and Paul of Melbourne for Ukrainian Catholics will share his message of faith and hope.
Under the guidance of Eparchy Bishop John Panamthottathil CMI and Vicar General Msgr. Francis Kolencherry, the program will feature sessions focused on themes like Hear His Calling, Heal the Broken, and Herald the Gospel. A Mega Workshop Panel Discussion, featuring speakers including Jo Hayes, Sijoy Varghese, and Ms. Trudy Dantis, will provide practical insights into living a committed Christian life.
Participants will also experience rich spiritual activities, including Holy Qurbana, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Liturgy of Hours. Interactive events such as live performances by Christian bands, team-building exercises, talent showcases, and conversation corners with confession booths will further enrich the conference experience.
Organized by a dedicated team from the Youth Apostolate, led by Sojin Sebastian and Unite Coordinator Alan Christy, Unite 2025 is more than just a conference—it is a movement aimed at empowering the next generation of Syro-Malabar leaders. The event is designed to encourage young Catholics to embrace their faith and cultural heritage, and to boldly carry forward the message of Christ.
Registrations are now open for those eager to join this transformative journey of faith, fellowship, and inspiration.
