Ukraine officials report that Russian assaults result in one fatality in Kryvyi Rih and cause damage to homes in Kyiv

In a series of overnight missile and drone attacks, Russia targeted Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine, resulting in the death of one civilian in Kryvyi Rih and causing damage to buildings and cars in Kyiv and beyond, officials reported early Sunday.

Governor Serhiy Lysak of the Dnipropetrovsk region stated on Telegram that a man succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, and a 30-year-old woman was seriously injured in the missile strikes on the central city of Kryvyi Rih. An infrastructure services building was also damaged, though details were not provided.

In the Odesa region, a drone attack ignited a fire in a private house, injuring three people, according to Governor Oleh Kiper on Telegram.

A 53-year-old woman was injured, and several residential houses were damaged in an attack on the southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia, as reported by Governor Ivan Fedorov on Telegram.

Kyiv, the capital, experienced multi-wave drone attacks that damaged several residential houses and cars, but no immediate injuries were reported, said Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.

Both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians in the war, which marks its third anniversary on Monday. The conflict began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Thousands of civilians, mostly Ukrainian, have perished in the ongoing conflict.

Ukraine's air force reported that Kyiv and central and eastern regions of the country were under air raid alerts for approximately six hours overnight.
