The College of Cardinals has extended sincere thanks to the religious dignitaries, political leaders, and civic authorities who participated in and supported the funeral ceremonies of Pope Francis held on Saturday.
In an official statement released by the Holy See, the Cardinals expressed deep appreciation for the presence of leaders from Christian denominations, as well as representatives from Islam, Judaism, and other faith traditions. Their attendance was described as a poignant sign of solidarity with the Church in its mourning and a gesture of respect for the late Pope’s unwavering dedication to interfaith dialogue, global peace, and human fraternity.
Gratitude was also directed toward the Italian government, the City of Rome, law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, media personnel, and all individuals involved—including Vatican staff—whose contributions ensured the solemn proceedings unfolded with serenity and dignity.
The message concluded with a special note of thanks to the youth who took part in the Jubilee of Teenagers Mass, highlighting their presence as a powerful witness to the vibrant spirit of the Church and its devotion to the risen Christ.
