India's Resolute Response: PM Modi Leads Strategic Deliberations Post-Pahalgam Tragedy

In the aftermath of the harrowing terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including tourists and two foreign nationals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spearheaded a series of high-level meetings to orchestrate a comprehensive response

Upon receiving news of the attack, PM Modi curtailed his official visit to Saudi Arabia and convened an immediate security briefing at Palam Airport in New Delhi. This urgent meeting included National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister chaired a session of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at his residence. The meeting was attended by key figures such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and NSA Ajit Doval. Discussions centered on formulating a decisive strategy to address the security challenges posed by the attack.

Intelligence reports have identified Saifullah Kasuri, also known as Khalid, a senior commander of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as the mastermind behind the massacre. The attack was reportedly executed by five to six militants, some of whom had recently infiltrated the region.

In response, security forces have launched extensive operations in and around Pahalgam, employing aerial surveillance and ground maneuvers to apprehend the perpetrators. Sketches of three suspected terrorists have been released to aid in their capture. The attackers were reportedly equipped with helmet-mounted cameras, suggesting an intent to record and disseminate footage of the assault.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has vowed that those responsible will face swift and appropriate retaliation. He emphasized India's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and assured that both the perpetrators and their conspirators will be brought to Justice.

The international community has condemned the attack, with leaders expressing solidarity with India. The government continues to monitor the situation closely, ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to safeguard the nation's security and bring the culprits to account.
