The Archdiocese of Changanassery has announced that Prof. Dr. Sabu Thomas and Dr. George Padanilam will be honored with the prestigious Excellence Award for the year 2025. His Eminence Mar Thomas Tharayil, Metropolitan of the Archdiocese, revealed the recipients during a press briefing. The awards will be conferred during the 139th Archdiocese Day celebrations on May 20, taking place at St. Mary's Metropolitan Church, Changanassery.
Prof. Dr. Sabu Thomas, a globally recognized expert in polymer science and nanotechnology, is being acknowledged for his exceptional academic and research achievements. A former Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and a parishioner of Parampuzha Badahem, Prof. Thomas has played a significant role in advancing scientific education and innovation in India and abroad.
Dr. George Padanilam, known for his unwavering dedication to medical service and humanitarian work, is also being celebrated. A member of St. George’s Parish, Chiramchira, Dr. Padanilam has spent decades implementing rehabilitation, training, and care programs for the differently-abled, bedridden, and terminally ill. His contributions to community health and social welfare have made a lasting impact across Kerala.
