Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an advanced stage of prostate cancer, according to an official statement released by his office. The cancer has reportedly metastasized to his bones.
The diagnosis followed a recent medical consultation after Biden sought treatment for a urinary tract infection. His office confirmed that he is currently undergoing medical intervention.
Prostate cancer severity is typically gauged using the Gleason score, which ranges from 1 to 10. Biden’s condition was assessed at a Gleason score of 9, indicating a highly aggressive form of the disease.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her concern in a social media message, stating that she and her husband are heartbroken over the news and confident that Biden will tackle this battle with resilience.
Current President Donald Trump also extended his well wishes to Biden for a swift recovery through a post on his platform, Truth Social.
