Fr. Dr. Antony Vadakkekara Appointed Director of Divine Institute of Media Science

Chalakudy: Fr. Dr. Antony Vadakkekara has assumed charge as the new Director of the Divine Institute of Media Science (DiMS), a renowned media degree college affiliated with the Divine Retreat Centre in Muringoor. Functioning under the guidance of the Vincentian Congregation, DiMS is affiliated with Calicut University and is dedicated to nurturing value-based professionals in the field of media and communication.

DiMS has a longstanding legacy of service in the media sector, spanning nearly a century. The college currently offers four-year undergraduate programmes in Multimedia, Visual Communication, Journalism, Graphic Design & Animation, and Film & Television. It is equipped with modern infrastructure, including high-end computer and academic labs, audio-video studios, a Dolby preview theatre, and an extensive library. Residential facilities are available on campus for both male and female students. Students also receive hands-on training through the institution’s association with Goodness Television Channel.

Fr. Antony Vadakkekara takes on this role after serving as the Public Relations Officer and Secretary of the Media Commission of the Syro-Malabar Church. Alongside his appointment, Dr. Sinoj, formerly the Academic Coordinator, has been promoted to the position of Principal.

These leadership changes follow the recent election of Rev. Dr. Robin Chittuparambil to the Church’s Governing Body and the transfer of Fr. Sebastian Kalapurathotti, marking a new chapter in the college’s academic and spiritual journey.
