The summit is scheduled to take place from June 15 to 17, 2025, in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada.

Prime Minister Modi announced his acceptance of the invitation on social media, stating, "Glad to receive a call from Prime Minister @MarkJCarney of Canada. Congratulated him on his recent election victory and thanked him for the invitation to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month. As vibrant democracies bound by deep people-to-people ties, India and Canada will work together with renewed vigour, guided by mutual respect and shared interests. Although India is not a member of the G7, it has been regularly invited to participate in outreach sessions of the summit, reflecting its growing influence in global affairs. Prime Minister Modi's attendance at this year's summit underscores India's commitment to engaging with major world economies on pressing global issues.
