Speaking in parliament amidst the backdrop of the Iran-Israel conflict, Pezeshkian firmly declared, "We do not want nuclear weapons. The West says that Iran should not make such weapons. But we have no intention of developing these weapons." This statement serves to reinforce Iran's long-held position on nuclear non-proliferation.
Pezeshkian simultaneously underscored Iran's sovereign right to harness nuclear energy for its civilian needs. He confirmed that the country will persist in enriching uranium for energy purposes, drawing a clear distinction between the development of nuclear weapons and the legitimate use of nuclear technology.
