Jalandhar: The Diocese of Jalandhar is abuzz with preparations for a momentous occasion: the episcopal consecration of its newly appointed bishop, Dr. Jose Sebastian Thekkumcherikunnel. A native of Kalaketti, Kottayam, Dr. Jose Sebastian Thekkumcherikunnel receives this new appointment after serving diligently as the administrator of the Jalandhar diocese. The Diocese of Jalandhar encompasses 18 districts of Punjab and portions of Himachal Pradesh, serving a vibrant Catholic community of 1,23,434 faithful, supported by 214 priests, 897 nuns, and 147 parishes. His consecration will solidify the spiritual leadership for this expansive and crucial diocese.
