Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian has issued a grave warning to Israel, declaring that any continuation of Israeli aggression will provoke a significantly harsher retaliation from Iran. While reaffirming his country’s readiness to engage in dialogue over the peaceful use of its nuclear program, Peseshkian insisted that Iran will not halt its nuclear activities under any circumstance.
The statement came during a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The Iranian leader reiterated that Iran’s nuclear development is non-negotiable in terms of complete cessation, though Tehran remains open to cooperation for peaceful purposes.
During the call, President Macron pressed for the release of two French nationals currently held in Iranian custody, describing their imprisonment as "inhumane and unjust." He voiced deep concerns over Iran’s nuclear trajectory and stressed that the Islamic Republic must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
Emphasizing the urgent need to de-escalate tensions, Macron appealed for restraint and urged Iran to provide transparency to assure the world of the peaceful intent behind its nuclear program. The French president also expressed optimism about a diplomatic path forward, noting that France and its European allies will step up engagement with Tehran to avoid further bloodshed and strive for a negotiated resolution.
