Bomb Threat Scribbled on Tissue Forces Air India Flight to Divert and Land in Riyadh

New Delhi: A mid-air bomb scare forced an Air India flight traveling from London to Delhi (Flight AI 114) to make an emergency landing in Riyadh after a chilling threat was discovered in an unusual way written on a piece of tissue paper.

The alarming message, reportedly found inside the aircraft’s lavatory, claimed a bomb had been planted onboard. Following standard emergency protocol, the pilots immediately diverted the aircraft and safely landed at Riyadh’s Souq Airport.

Upon landing, security personnel swiftly moved all passengers to a secure holding area of the airport, without allowing them to collect their personal belongings. The aircraft was thoroughly searched by bomb disposal squads and airport security, with the operation stretching over three and a half hours ending around 11 a.m. IST.

Once authorities confirmed the aircraft was safe and no explosives were found, passengers were escorted to the terminal. Airport officials later informed them that the flight would resume its journey to Delhi as soon as the necessary security clearances were completed.
