Six Norbertine Brothers Begin Their Spiritual Journey with Vestition Ceremony

Bangalore: In a solemn and grace filled ceremony held at St. Norbert Bhavan, Bangalore, six young men took a profound step in their religious vocation as they were vested with the habit of the Mananthavady Norbertines. The occasion, observed on the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, was deeply symbolic a day that commemorates faith and commitment, mirroring the path these brothers have chosen to walk.

The vestition ceremony officially marked the beginning of the canonical novitiate year for these brothers, a critical period of spiritual formation, community living, and vocational discernment. With reverence and joy, the Norbertine community welcomed Bro. John Panthappallil, Bro. Josin Olickal, Bro. Aljo (Mathai) Areekuzhiputhenpura, Bro. Peterson Daimary, Bro. Ringsat Basumatary, and Bro. Aianrak S Sangma into the novitiate. Notably, three of the brothers Peterson, Ringsat, and Aianrak hail from the Northeastern region of India, reflecting the growing diversity within the Order.

During the ceremony, the novices received the white habit of St. Norbert, symbolizing purity, commitment, and readiness to embrace a life of service in accordance with the Norbertine charism. The community, gathered in prayer, celebrated their courage and faith as they begin this transformative journey.

The Norbertine Fathers have earnestly requested the prayers and support of the faithful for these six novices, as they embark on a year of interior growth, theological study, and community immersion. The vestition stands as a sign of hope and renewal within the Church, and a testament to the enduring call of God in the hearts of young men.

This sacred event adds another chapter to the vibrant spiritual mission of the Mananthavady Norbertines, who continue to form and guide new generations in religious life, service, and holiness.
