Submissions Open for the 2025 Vachansarga Pratibha Award Honouring Excellence in Biblical Scholarship

Kochi: The Kerala Catholic Bible Society has invited entries for the prestigious Vachansarga Pratibha Award 2025, established in memory of the late Bishop Mar George Punnakottil, a revered figure who played a pivotal role in the KCBC Bible Commission and the Bible Society for many years. This accolade aims to celebrate and foster creative and scholarly contributions in the field of biblical literature and theology.

The award includes a cash prize of ₹25,000 along with a commemorative plaque, and is open to individuals from all communities, irrespective of caste or religion. Nominations may also be made by others on behalf of deserving candidates.

This year's thematic focus is "Biblical Knowledge". Submissions should address key elements such as the origin and authorship of the Bible, its historical and spiritual purpose, its impact over time, the variety of audiences it has reached, and its potential for future relevance and application. Essays must also reflect on possible future directions for biblical engagement.

Contributors are requested to submit three copies of their work in Malayalam, and only writings published from 2020 onwards will be considered for evaluation.
