Fr. Abraham Parambettu Re-elected as Secretary of Kottayam Archdiocese Presbyteral Council

Kottayam: Fr. Abraham Parambettu has been re-elected as Secretary of the Presbyteral Council of the Kottayam Archdiocese. The election took place during the inaugural session of the newly constituted council, held at the Chaitanya Pastoral Centre, Thellakam, under the leadership of His Grace Mar Mathew Moolakkattu, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kottayam.

Hailing from Madambam Parish and ordained in 1995, Fr. Abraham is the son of Kuriakose and Eliamma. He holds a Master’s degree in Theology from the University of Lugano, Switzerland, and has held various key roles within the Archdiocese. His previous appointments include Chief Editor of Abraham Apnadesh, Notary of the Marriage Tribunal, KCYL Archdiocesan Chaplain, and Director of the Barumariam Pastoral Centre. He has also served as Vicar in multiple parishes including Uzhavoor, Arayangad, Pothukuzhi, Ettumanoor, Pachira, Mattakara, Sreepuram, and Kaduthuruthy. Currently, he serves as the Procurator of the Archdiocese.

In the same meeting, Fr. Luke Karimpil, Fr. Thomas Pralel, and Fr. Renny Kattel were elected as Executive Committee Members of the Presbyteral Council. Fr. Mathew Kochadampalli was chosen to represent the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council.
