Coordination Essential for Effective Church Services, Says Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil

Kakkanad: A meeting of the secretaries of various commissions and office bearers of the various departments within the Syro-Malabar Church was held on Wednesday, July 16, at the Church headquarters, Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad.

The gathering was inaugurated by Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil, who delivered the keynote address. In his message, the Major Archbishop emphasized the importance of connectivity, continuity, and a collaborative spirit among the different commissions. He cautioned that pursuing isolated goals and working in silos would hinder the Church’s mission of establishing the Kingdom of God. He urged the commissions to adopt organizational discipline and cooperation as the defining characteristics of their work.

Curia Bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal welcomed the gathering, and Chancellor Fr. Abraham Kavilpurayidathil delivered the vote of thanks.

The Syro-Malabar Church oversees 28 commissions that coordinate various Church ministries across the globe. During the conference, representatives from each commission presented their annual reports and submitted the work summaries for the past year.
