Youth Leadership Empowerment Marks Phase 4 of SMYM Pala Training Camp

Pala: The fourth phase of the Youth Training Program by the Syro-Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) of Pala Diocese unfolded with vibrancy and enthusiasm at St. Joseph Church, Cuddalore. Organized under the leadership of the SMYM Cuddalore Unit, the leadership training camp served as a platform to inspire, educate, and strengthen young Catholic leaders from across the region.

The camp was officially inaugurated by SMYM Cuddalore Unit Director Fr. Thomas Kizhakkekara, who urged participants to embrace their spiritual and social responsibilities with conviction and faith. The central theme of this phase focused on the importance of family as the cornerstone of individual growth and community strength.

Leading the main session was Mr. Bristow, a faculty member from BVM College, Cherpungal, who offered deep insights on family values, youth roles in nurturing familial harmony, and the Church’s vision for family-centered living. His talk emphasized that leadership begins at home and radiates outward into society.

The camp was also animated by the vibrant leadership of Diocesan President Anwin Soni Odachuvattil, along with team members C. Alfie, Secretary Benison, Bio Benny, Sebin Siju, and Neha Maria Sunny. Through interactive sessions, team-building activities, and spiritual reflection, they helped the youth participants rediscover their purpose and potential.

The Phase 4 camp forms part of a larger series of initiatives undertaken by SMYM Pala Diocese to cultivate dedicated, value-driven leaders rooted in the Gospel and responsive to the contemporary needs of the Church and society.
