Pala: In a heartfelt address, Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil, head of the Syro-Malabar Church, praised the Diocese of Pala for remaining true to its spiritual roots, declaring that it is a rare example of a Church community that has not transformed ministry into a profit-driven enterprise.

"The Diocese of Pala has carved out a unique identity a beacon of purity in mission, untouched by the tides of institutional commercialisation," said Mar Raphael Thattil. “Here, faith is not diluted, and ministry is not treated as a business. Pala stands as a bird soaring ahead, driven by grace and guided by conviction.”
Describing Pala as a “star that never misleads,” the Major Archbishop highlighted the region’s excellence in holiness, missionary zeal, and devotion to truth. He further noted that the Diocese is deeply rooted in spiritual richness, and continues to serve as a model for other ecclesial communities.
“Pala represents the finest essence of Christian life a stronghold of fidelity, virtue, and service. It is a land that brings together ancient traditions and vibrant missionary spirit in harmony,” he added.
