Thiruvananthapuram: In a moment of immense pride for India and Kerala, S. Rajeev, the Secretary General of the Kerala Olympic Association and President of the Kerala Aquatics Association, has been appointed to the prestigious Technical Swimming Committee of World Aquatics. The announcement was officially made at the World Aquatics Congress held in Singapore.
This historic appointment makes Rajeev only the second Indian ever to hold a position on the committee, following in the footsteps of the legendary Virendra Nanavati. His induction into the elite global swimming governance body underscores his longstanding contribution to the sport at both national and international levels.
With a career in aquatic sports administration and officiating spanning more than 30 years, Rajeev has served as an International Technical Official of World Aquatics since 1988. His vast experience includes officiating at three Olympic Games and three FINA World Championships, in addition to high-profile international events such as the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Indoor Games, World University Games, and East Asian Games.
Known for his commitment to excellence and fair play, Rajeev’s reputation as a seasoned and impartial official has earned him respect globally. His leadership roles within the Swimming Federation of India further highlight his influence in shaping the future of Indian aquatic sports.
