Kanjirappally: The Diocese of Kanjirappally has expressed deep joy and heartfelt congratulations to Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal, who has been appointed as the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kalyan. Recognized for his pastoral zeal and dedicated service to the Syro-Malabar Church, Mar Vaniyapurakkal’s elevation has been welcomed with gratitude and prayers by the faithful of his mother diocese.
In a special message, Mar Jose Pulikkal, Bishop of Kanjirappally, conveyed his warm wishes, stating that the Archdiocese of Kalyan will continue to flourish under the spiritual guidance of its new shepherd. He added that the diocese shares in the joy of this new mission and assures continued prayers for the success of Mar Vaniyapurakkal’s ministry.
Bishop Pulikkal also noted that both he and Mar Mathew Arakkal, Bishop Emeritus of Kanjirappally, join together in offering blessings and best wishes not only to Mar Vaniyapurakkal but also to the newly appointed Metropolitans and bishops. These include Mar Sebastian Vadakkel, Mar Prince Panengadan, and Mar Kuriakose Bharanikulangara, along with Fr. James Patelil and Fr. Joseph Thacharath, who have been entrusted with episcopal responsibilities in the Dioceses of Balthangady and Adilabad.
