Pala Diocese Youth Assembly Begins with Enthusiasm

Kottayam: The Eparchial Youth Assembly of the Pala Diocese opened with great energy and participation at the Alphonsian Pastoral Institute, setting the tone for three days of faith-filled dialogue, reflection, and interaction. SMYM Diocesan President Anwin Soni Odachuvattil officially inaugurated the gathering by hoisting the assembly flag.

The opening day featured a vibrant panel discussion on “Political Thought and Participation” with the participation of political leaders Dr. Jintro John, Adv. Ronnie Mathew, Adv. Sean George, and senior journalist Tom Kuriakose, sparking lively engagement among the youth.

On the following day, Bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangatt and Principal Vicar General Dr. Joseph Thadathil will join the sessions, offering guidance and direct interaction with the young participants. Directors of various diocesan departments will also take part, sharing their insights and experiences to inspire deeper involvement of youth in Church and society.

The assembly is being led under the direction of Fr. Sebastian Vethanath, with SMYM Pala Diocese Director Fr. Mani Kankankutty, President Anwin Soni Odachuvattil, General Secretary Robin T. Jose Thannimala, and leaders Bilna Sibi, Joseph Vadakkel, and Don Joseph Soni at the forefront.

The Youth Assembly, which has already brought together hundreds of young people in vibrant fellowship, will conclude on September 2 at 1 pm.
