Momo the Brave Little Turtle

Momo the Brave Little Turtle

In a quiet pond lived a small turtle named Momo. Unlike the other turtles, Momo was shy and always afraid to try new things. While his friends raced on the grass or swam to the far end of the pond, Momo stayed close to the shore.

One sunny morning, the pond animals heard a loud cry. A baby duck had fallen into the water and couldn’t swim back to its mother! The duckling splashed and called for help.

The frogs jumped, the fish swam in circles, and the birds chirped nervously but no one knew what to do.

Momo’s heart beat fast. “I’m too small,” he thought. “What can I do?” But then he remembered what his grandmother always said: “Courage is not about size, it’s about trying when it matters most.”

So Momo took a deep breath, slipped into the water, and paddled toward the duckling. Carefully, he let the duckling climb onto his shell. Step by step, stroke by stroke, Momo carried the baby back to safety.

The pond erupted in cheers! The duckling’s mother hugged her baby, and everyone called Momo a hero.

From that day on, Momo was no longer afraid. He learned that bravery comes from the heart not from being big or strong.

Moral: Courage means helping others, even when you feel small or afraid.
