Cincinnati: The Mount Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati was rocked by gunfire on Sunday afternoon, leaving two dead and two others in critical condition, authorities reported. The incident unfolded around 1:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Beacon Street, with police officers nearby witnessing the shooting firsthand.
Cincinnati Police Department Lieutenant Jonathan Cunningham said, “Our officers arrived on the scene within a few minutes and found four people shot.” He added that the alleged shooter attempted to take his own life but is now under hospital care.
Both the suspect and one critically injured victim are being treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Police confirmed that the shooter no longer poses a threat to the community.
