Jerusalem: In the midst of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, US-based Christian charity Samaritan's Purse is stepping up as a lifeline for the people of Gaza, distributing critical food aid to those affected by the humanitarian crisis. Led by preacher Franklin Graham, the organization is working alongside a newly established foundation supported by Israel and the United States to provide swift and targeted assistance.
Since the escalation of hostilities in October 2023, Samaritan's Purse has mobilized resources at unprecedented speed. Over seven shipments, the organization has delivered more than 280,000 pounds of high-calorie, vitamin-fortified food packets including Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF) provided by Georgia-based company MANA. These carefully prepared supplies are designed to address malnutrition among children and vulnerable families, offering both sustenance and hope in the hardest-hit areas.
Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, shared on social media that teams are working around the clock to ensure that aid reaches those most in need. Alongside food distribution, Samaritan's Purse medical teams are treating victims on the ground, maintaining a dual focus on nutrition and healthcare during one of Gaza’s most severe crises. The organization has a long history of rapid response, previously providing emergency medical kits, food supplies, and 42 ambulances to support communities during attacks in Israel.
Through its tireless efforts, Samaritan's Purse has become more than a charitable organization it has emerged as a symbol of humanity and faith-driven action. Amid war and uncertainty, the Christian organization continues to provide a lifeline for thousands, demonstrating how compassion and organized relief can make a tangible difference in times of unprecedented need.
