Pala Diocese Eparchial Youth Assembly Concludes with Focus on Empowerment and Solutions

Kottayam: Kottayam witnessed the successful culmination of the Pala Diocese Youth Movement’s (SMYM – KCYM) Eparchial Youth Assembly, held at the Pala Alphonsian Pastoral Institute from August 31 to September 2. The three-day gathering brought together over 150 young participants from twenty foronas, providing a dynamic platform to discuss pressing issues confronting the youth and to explore practical solutions for their personal, social, and spiritual development.

The assembly featured in-depth deliberations on a wide range of topics affecting the younger generation. Participants engaged in discussions on the role of the Church, organizational leadership, political engagement, entrepreneurship, family values, and the responsible use of technology. The sessions were designed to encourage dialogue, share experiences, and foster a sense of community among the youth while equipping them to address contemporary challenges.

On the concluding day, Tuesday, participants had the opportunity to interact with distinguished members of the Pala Diocese leadership. Vicar Generals Rev. Fr. Sebastian Vethanam and Rev. Fr. Joseph Kaniotikkal, along with Neethus Academy Managing Director Neethu Boban, shared insights, guidance, and motivational advice, inspiring the youth to take active roles in their communities and the Church.

The assembly was meticulously coordinated by the diocesan leadership, including Diocese Director Fr. Mani Kankankutty, President Anwin Soni Odachuvattil, and General Secretary Robin T. Jose Thannimala. Other key organizers, Sr. Naveena CMC, Joseph Vadakkel, Benison Sunny, and Edwin Jais, played pivotal roles in ensuring the smooth execution of the event, from session planning to participant engagement.

The Eparchial Youth Assembly concluded on a note of optimism and resolve, reaffirming the commitment of Pala Diocese to empower its young members, nurture leadership skills, and encourage active participation in the social, spiritual, and cultural life of the Church. The event underscored the significance of dialogue, mentorship, and community in shaping the future of the diocese’s youth.
