Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant move towards enhancing accessibility and efficiency, the Kerala High Court has announced the commencement of case-related communications via WhatsApp, effective from October 6. This initiative aims to provide litigants and their legal representatives with timely updates on case statuses, hearing schedules, and court orders directly through the messaging platform.
To avail of this service, parties involved in cases are required to submit their active mobile numbers to the High Court. While the court's official website has been a source of such information, the integration of WhatsApp is expected to facilitate quicker and more direct communication, ensuring that updates reach stakeholders promptly.
The messages will be sent from the official WhatsApp number of The High Court of Kerala. However, the court has emphasized that traditional methods of communication, such as notices, summonses, and letters, will continue to be used alongside this new system. Litigants are also advised to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of messages received to avoid potential misinformation.
This step underscores the judiciary's commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery and keep pace with the digital age, making legal processes more accessible to the public.
