Pope Leo XIV Visits Newly Inaugurated Vatican Tribunal Courtroom

Vatican City: Pope Leo XIV paid a brief but meaningful visit to the newly established courtroom of the Vatican Tribunal, now located within the historic Apostolic Palace.

The Holy See Press Office confirmed the visit, noting that the courtroom has been set up in the former Synod Hall, giving the Tribunal a renewed and more functional space to carry out its judicial responsibilities.

During his visit, Pope Leo personally greeted Prof. Venerando Marano, President of the Tribunal, along with Prof. Alessandro Diddi, Promoter of Justice. The Pope’s presence underscored his closeness to the work of the Vatican’s judicial authorities, who are tasked with ensuring justice within the Church’s governance.

Though brief, the encounter highlighted the importance the Holy Father places on the transparency and effectiveness of ecclesiastical justice, a cornerstone of Vatican reforms in recent years.
