One Million Children Worldwide to Pray the Rosary for Peace on October 7

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) has launched the 20th edition of its global campaign, “One Million Children Praying the Rosary,” scheduled for October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The initiative aims to unite children around the world in praying for peace and unity at a time marked by ongoing wars, divisions, and suffering.

The campaign has grown significantly since its inception, with more than a million children taking part in recent years. In 2025, ACN is once again calling on parishes, schools, and families worldwide to gather children to pray the rosary together. The effort is being promoted as a “tidal wave of prayer” rising from children’s hearts, emphasizing their faith and trust in God.

As of now, nearly 50,000 children have already registered on ACN’s international platform, though organizers expect many more to sign up as the date approaches. The foundation is providing a wide range of resources, including prayer booklets, leaflets explaining the rosary, posters, and coloring pages for younger participants, available in multiple languages to help parishes and schools prepare.

Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, president of ACN, and Father Anton Lässer, the organization’s ecclesiastical assistant, have both underlined the urgency of the initiative, stressing that the prayers of children carry special significance for building peace and unity.

Participation is not limited to children alone. Families and faith communities are encouraged to join, with some countries appointing child ambassadors to spread awareness. In Canada, for example, a 10-year-old has taken the role of encouraging peers to join the campaign.

With global conflicts escalating and societies divided, organizers believe this worldwide prayer effort can be a powerful witness of faith and hope. ACN continues to invite schools, catechism groups, parishes, and families to register their participation and help bring the campaign closer to its goal of one million voices raised in prayer for peace.
