India Commemorates Gandhi Jayanti 2025, Honoring the Father of the Nation

New Delhi:  India today celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, marking the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The day is observed across the country to honor Gandhi’s principles of non-violence, truth, and simplicity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Gandhi at Raj Ghat, highlighting the relevance of Gandhian values in shaping a progressive and compassionate India. President Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings to the nation, emphasizing the continued importance of Gandhi’s philosophy in contemporary society.

In addition to national celebrations, the United Nations recognizes October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence, reflecting Gandhi’s global influence. Various events, educational programs, and tributes were organized nationwide to commemorate his legacy.
