Bhopal: The Archdiocese of Bhopal witnessed a remarkable spiritual gathering as thousands of faithful came together for the Bible Mahotsav 2025, a three-day celebration held from September 30 to October 2. The annual event highlighted the centrality of the Word of God and fostered a renewed sense of Christian fellowship and devotion.
The Mahotsav commenced with a solemn Bible procession, where the Holy Scriptures were carried reverently amid hymns and prayers, symbolising the living guidance of God’s Word in the life of the Church. Archbishop of Bhopal, along with priests, religious, and lay faithful, presided over the inaugural ceremony, emphasizing the Mahotsav’s theme of fostering love for Scripture, deepening faith, and strengthening unity.
The event was animated by Rev. Fr. Jeevan K.D. and his dedicated team, who led participants through dynamic preaching, heartfelt worship, and testimonies that challenged attendees to root their lives in Scripture. Sessions combined thanksgiving, reflection, songs, prayers, and homilies, inspiring the faithful to embody the teachings of Christ in daily life.
A key feature of the Mahotsav was the Sacrament of Confession, which drew long queues of participants seeking reconciliation, healing, and spiritual renewal. Alongside confession, participants engaged in interactive sessions and fellowship, creating a vibrant atmosphere of communal devotion and faith-sharing.
The final day of the Mahotsav was marked by a Thanksgiving Mass celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Bhopal Archdiocesan priests, honouring 25 years of priestly ministry. Clergy and laity united in prayer for the jubilarians, offering gratitude for their dedicated service and interceding for new vocations in the Archdiocese.
The Bible Mahotsav 2025 reflected the Archdiocese’s enduring mission: “Nourished by Christ, Sent to Serve.” Attendees departed with hearts uplifted, renewed in their commitment to carry the Word of God into their families, parishes, and communities, inspired to live the Gospel with authenticity and joy.
