Gulbarga: The Diocese of Gulbarga came alive with devotion and joy as hundreds of families gathered at the Mother of Divine Grace Cathedral to celebrate the Family Jubilee 2025 under the inspiring theme, “Together with Mary: Jubilee Rosary Day for Families.” The event, organized by the Diocese in collaboration with the Holy Cross Family Ministry of the South Indian Province, became a profound expression of unity, faith, and gratitude.
The day-long celebration was filled with prayer, reflection, and thanksgiving, encouraging families to rediscover the beauty of faith within their homes. The atmosphere was one of spiritual renewal as participants reflected on the importance of family prayer, mutual forgiveness, and the central role of love in daily life.
Delivering the keynote address, Fr. Vinay Kumar spoke passionately about the sacred mission of families in today’s world. He described the Jubilee as “a sacred time to renew gratitude, rekindle faith, and rediscover God’s blessings in the home.” Highlighting marriage as a divine covenant, he reminded the faithful that the family is the “domestic church” a space where faith is lived, nurtured, and passed on. He called upon families to embrace the Rosary as “a weapon of peace and unity” and to make it a part of their everyday lives.
Fr. Vinay also reflected on the need for reconciliation and prayer in family life, emphasizing that forgiveness is “the heart of Christian love.” He noted that confession and mutual understanding are not signs of weakness but of divine strength, helping families overcome division and restore harmony.
Prominent clergy including Fr. Santhosh Bapu, Vicar General of the Diocese; Fr. Ronald Fernandes, Director of Afzalpur Mission; and Fr. Johny, Director of Holy Cross Family Ministry (South Province), joined the gathering. Their presence underscored the diocese’s collective commitment to strengthening family bonds through faith and service.
The celebration reached its spiritual peak with a candle-lit Rosary procession around the cathedral grounds. Families parents, children, and elders walked together in reverence, their prayers rising under the soft glow of candlelight. The rhythmic recitation of the Rosary, led by the faithful, echoed through the night, symbolizing unity and hope under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
As the procession concluded, participants expressed a renewed commitment to live as families of prayer and love. The Jubilee of Families, rich in reflection and devotion, became not just a diocesan event but a powerful reminder that the strength of the Church lies within the faith-filled homes of its people.
