KCBC Vigilance Commission Criticizes Minister’s Remarks on Ongoing Court Case

Kochi: The KCBC Vigilance Commission has strongly criticized the recent comments made by the State Education Minister on social media regarding a case currently under the consideration of the Honorable High Court. The Commission described the minister’s remarks as immature and contrary to the spirit of the legal system, adding that the note attributed to the minister reflects incorrect interpretations of the issue.

The Commission observed that, instead of addressing the recurring challenges faced by Christian educational institutions through fair investigation and dialogue, taking a political stance that appears to favor those targeting such institutions is unfortunate and undemocratic. It warned that such attitudes can embolden those who seek to weaken minority-run institutions.

“Rather than studying the issue calmly and guiding it toward a fair resolution, adopting positions driven by political motives is undesirable,” the Commission said. It further added that public representatives, who bear the responsibility of uniting society, should not act as spokespersons for divisive tendencies or political polarization.

The Vigilance Commission urged for greater responsibility and restraint from those in authority, emphasizing that respect for judicial processes and constructive engagement are essential to preserve the democratic and secular fabric of the nation.
