Dindori: A wave of youthful enthusiasm and faith swept through the Dindori Deanery of the Diocese of Jabalpur as more than 117 young people from eight parishes gathered for a one-day seminar dedicated to rekindling their spiritual zeal and commitment to the Church. The event served as both a reunion and a renewal, held under the inspiring theme, “The Responsibilities of the Youth in the Church Today to Build the Church Tomorrow.”
The seminar featured insightful sessions led by Fr. Anil Kujur and Fr. Sanjay Kujur, who emphasized the vital role of young people in shaping the future of the Church through active participation, responsible leadership, and selfless service. They urged the youth to view their involvement not merely as volunteers but as mission partners in spreading faith and love within their communities.
The gathering also reflected a shared desire to bridge parishes through collaboration and renewed purpose. The speakers encouraged the youth to bring energy, creativity, and compassion into parish activities, particularly in catechetical instruction, social outreach, and digital evangelization fields where young people’s presence can make a transformative impact.
The day concluded with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Joseph P., Dean of Dindori, who, in his homily, lauded the young participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their mission of service and unity. He reminded them that “the Church’s strength lies in the faith and energy of its youth.”
Parish Priests Fr. James Santanam and Fr. Asish Patta, along with Fr. P. Sahaya Ajil, Youth Co-ordinator, and several religious leaders, extended their guidance and encouragement throughout the event, underscoring the importance of mentorship in nurturing the next generation of Catholic leaders.
As a concrete outcome of the seminar, the participants unanimously resolved to launch new initiatives to sustain their renewed momentum. These include quarterly deanery-level youth seminars, leadership formation programmes, and an annual retreat spanning two to three days aimed at deepening faith and fostering fellowship among young Catholics.
The Dindori Deanery youth left the gathering with a renewed spirit—determined to build a vibrant, Christ-centred community rooted in faith, service, and love. Their collective pledge to remain active pillars of the Church in Jabalpur stands as a hopeful sign of a generation ready to lead the Church into a more dynamic and engaged future.
