Relics of Saint Carlo Acutis Arrive in Changanassery, Inspiring a New Wave of Youth Evangelization

Changanassery: A historic moment unfolded in Changanassery as the relic of Saint Carlo Acutis, the young Italian saint who transformed social media and the digital world into a platform for evangelization, was officially received by the Archdiocese of Changanassery. The arrival marks a significant spiritual milestone for the faithful in the region, particularly the youth who see in Carlo a contemporary model of holiness.

The relic was graciously handed over by Fr. Jerry Kelly, Chancellor of the Diocese of Orvieto in Italy and General Counselor of the Our Lady of Light Community, to Mar Thomas, head of the Changanassery Archdiocese. The solemn ceremony was attended by prominent clergy, including Fr. Antony Ethakkat, Chief Vicar General, along with Media Village directors and representatives from Rome. The event highlighted the global bonds of faith and devotion that transcend geographical boundaries.

The Archdiocese’s media outreach wing, Media Village, has announced plans for a grand consecration ceremony on November 16th, which will be organized in collaboration with Yuvadeepthi SMYM. The celebration aims to engage a large number of young faithful, inviting them to witness and embrace the legacy of Saint Carlo Acutis, who exemplified how modern tools can serve timeless spiritual missions.

Through this initiative, the Archdiocese hopes to inspire youth to use technology responsibly for positive change, following the saint’s example of merging digital innovation with devotion. The event promises to be both a spiritual enrichment and a vibrant celebration of faith, echoing Carlo’s message that holiness can flourish even in the digital age.
