Bengaluru: In a landmark initiative aimed at fostering the socio-economic growth of Karnataka’s Christian community, the Karnataka Christian Community Development Corporation (KCCDC) officially launched its new schemes along with a dedicated web portal at KMDC Bhavan, Seshadripuram, on October 17. The event drew the presence of government officials, community leaders, and representatives from Christian institutions.
The inauguration was graced by Hon’ble Minister for Waqf and Minority Welfare, Shri B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, who emphasised the government’s commitment to inclusive development. Speaking at the event, he said, “The Karnataka Christian Community Development Corporation has been established to support the Christian community, especially socially and economically weaker sections, and to promote the growth of their institutions. With the ₹250 crore allocation by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, I hope these schemes will reach and benefit every eligible individual.”
Shri Naseer Ahmed, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, extended his best wishes to the Corporation, highlighting the transformative potential of the newly launched schemes in uplifting the community’s educational, economic, and social prospects.
Prof. S. Japhet, Chairman of KCCDC, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister, Ministers, government officials, and Christian leaders for their support. He underscored the Corporation’s commitment to the effective implementation of these schemes and called for greater collaboration with church leaders and institutions to ensure wider awareness and accessibility. “Our goal is to make sure every eligible person knows about these opportunities and can benefit fully,” he added.
The event also provided a detailed overview of KCCDC’s newly launched web portal, designed to streamline application processes, provide scheme information, and facilitate easier access for beneficiaries across the state. Dignitaries lauded the portal as a step towards transparency, efficiency, and digital empowerment.
The gathering saw participation from numerous prominent figures in the government and Christian community, marking the launch as a historic milestone in the journey toward community development and empowerment in Karnataka.
