Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Diocesan Youth Convention 2025, held from October 18 to 22 at St. Antony Academy School in Pokhari, Bhilai Pahar, has brought together hundreds of young Catholics from across the diocese to engage in faith, fellowship, and personal growth.
Bishop Telesphore Bilung SVD of Jamshedpur encouraged participants to face life’s challenges with courage and rely on God’s grace in spreading the Gospel. He emphasized the importance of youth actively contributing to the Church and society.
The event was organized by Fr. Sheetal Lakra, Diocesan Youth Director, along with Fr. Cornelius Tigga, Fr. Christopher SVD, and a dedicated team of youth leaders. The convention featured a variety of sessions, including talks, cultural programs, prayer meetings, and faith-sharing activities.
Among the speakers, Shilpa Ekka, a youth leader from the Diocese of Rourkela, highlighted the importance of education, skills, and values. She reminded participants that young people are not just the future of the Church but its living present, called to lead, serve, and positively impact society through Christ’s love.
The five-day convention provided a platform for young Catholics to strengthen their faith, develop leadership skills, and foster a sense of community, reflecting the diocese’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Church leaders.
