Adilabad: Bishop Joseph Thachaparambath, a member of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, was officially consecrated as the third Bishop of Adilabad on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Mancherial, Telangana. The ceremony took place at the Ephatha Retreat Centre in Rebbena, Telangana, beginning at 9:30 AM IST. The consecration was presided over by Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil, head of the Syro-Malabar Church. The event was attended by a large gathering of clergy, religious leaders, and faithful from across India, marking a significant milestone in the Syro-Malabar Church’s presence in the region.



Born on February 24, 1969, in Nalumukku, Kerala, Bishop Thachaparambath joined the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate in 1985. He was ordained a priest on January 4, 1997, after completing his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Darsana Institute of Philosophy and Dharmaram College, Bangalore. Before his episcopal appointment, he served in multiple roles across India, including parish ministry in the Eparchy of Chanda, administrative head of the Mar Thoma Province, and bursar of the Diocese of Adilabad. Since 2023, he had been serving as the Superior of the Mar Thoma Province.

The consecration ceremony was livestreamed, allowing devotees worldwide to witness this historic moment.
